Google AdSense

Recently we signed up for Google AdSense. For those who don't know what that is, it's a Google advertising program for website owners. And the advertising program for advertisers is called AdWords. Here's how the system works in three steps:
  1. Advertisers upload ads through AdWords.
  2. Website owners sign up for AdSesne.
  3. Google places the ads on the websites, using complex methods to match the ads to webpages' content.
The outcome of this system is: advertisers get people to visit their website and the website owners get paid for each time someone clicks on a ad on their webpage. While it sounds like it would be easy for both the advertisers and website owners to make money instantly, the system relies on the content, quality, and traffic on websites to actually make money. The more traffic on your website, the more likely people will click on ads. In fact, there is also a whole area of research of how to attract the most clicks on advertisements. People look at using colors, placement, and size to have their ads blend in or stand out.

The recent placement of ads on Drewse.com is purely experimental right now. We are seeing if we can make the ads fit in without deterring customers away. We have mainly added text ads, as they seem to blend in more. Please feel free to leave your opinions on the matter by leaving a comment.
